Happy Moment
nice to see you again friend
it as been so long
since i saw your smiling face
and heard your kind face
it's like seeing you from afar
unable to feel your feeling
unable to see the twinkle
how wonderful it became
to know such a gem of a person
how horrible it is
to loose you all of a sudden
telephone makes my ears go eager
urging my eyes to look for the dear one
and life has got its own rules
doesn't care for my feelings
who am i to ask life's mysteries?
but tonight i am grateful for the
angel of friendship who brings together
nice to see you again friend
it is so nice to see you.

Troubled I was with my boss
Frustrated and bothered
While doing my job
Taking a lunch break
And dozed of f real good
Then the mysterious voice said
"master,my master!"
I woke up and looked around
Then looked at my watch
Three minutes from clock in
Thanks to my mother's voice
Even from many miles away
Can protect me from trouble.

for beautiful morning
tasty meal brunch
smiling girls in bunch
happy people as much.
for the easy day you make
the patience in me you wake
for the strength endowed
thanks, thanks to you God.
for the smile you put in the face
for heavenly chirping of the birds
for colorful butterflies
for the masterpiece of musicians
but most of all
for letting the sun shine
thanks
cause you make life so bearable.

2008 Demis AklilberhanA Fight With In
Fighting everyday,every hour
Every minute and every second
Me and myself
Desperate to compromise
But they stay otherwise
Confused and puzzled
Still fighting hard
Looking for a common ground
Years of fighting
Every one of us seems to have mind of its own
Ego selfish with no reasoning
Super ego,rational thinking
Body follows the ego
The soul towards super ego
We still are way apart.

2008 Demis AklilberhanIdle Time?
Idle time just roaming and rumbling
Up and down,here and there
Glancing at my watch
Still have ample time to wander and see
People rushing to work traffic directing
Police prevent jay walking
Stores opened and serve
Some closed the gates down
Around the block just to spend time
But still I got ample to get a coffee
Wondering how time slows down
When we have nothing to do
Then again for those people
Who never work never do what is it like
But whether fly,drag or walk
We work, tired, exhaust and aged
Or we rust while sitting
But still idle time never sits idle.

2008 Demis AklilberhanLesson In Time
Yesterday gone!Leaving its footprints
Ignorance, not knowing
What to do and what to say
Expecting orders
Some helpful, others mean
Some heartless, others not
Being sensitive, home sick
Desperate and agonized
But still life goes on
Experience it And file it in a memory folder
Next time you come across it
Laugh it off ,just laugh it off
You only be hurt once
First time is a lesson
Second time is a joke
Then totally nonsense
Today I am here To feel the pain
For tommorow's joke
And the day after tommorow's nonsense
Then again life goes on.

My brother do you know colours?
Accusing me of trying to be white?
I am not accusing you of looking different
Thinking different,dressing different
But I want to tell you something
Try to listen with your heart
I am a black african and Proud to be one
Because I never wish to be otherwise
I never wondered to be the other race
Born free, grew up free, and think free
Never thought of myself less than who I am
A human being, born free and live freely
Appreciating life of its beautiful colours
Admiring nature as a composition of harmony
many colours to my eyes to look at
Beautiful colours to my soul
Colours as food to the senses
just one colour?oh no it's plain to me
But brother,blend it with other
Then tell me what you see.

1997 gone
already yesterday
tomorrow will be yesteryear
the year was like a big garden
events like roses and weeds
buds of roses cut and rose to heaven
bunch of weeds thrown out to hell
our hearts bleed for the roses
and wish them blessings
memories like houses keep the roses
today,tommorrow and in the future
but the weeds should be repressed
blocked out from our mind
this is my wish for this 1998 year
to forget all the bad memories
although thegood and bad things share 1997
they shouldn't be together in the vase of our hearts
so help us God,help us forget the weeds.

I remember a saying
A saying from my people
He let's you know that it's gonna rain
By its thunder storm
He let's you see the light on the sky
So you know the lightning gonna struck
What the hell are you waiting for
Hurry up and do something
Or else sit down with crossed hands
The man above might come down to help you out
May be what about making a resolution
Trying to live by it
Make tomorrow better
Make it happen
Because he let's you know
By the people around you
So don't wait on him to come down bro.

America,america
United states of america
A rich country america
A place where you buy water
Where simple things in life are expensive
children grow up in the streets
Homelessness,out of control
Social values at the lowest level
A rich country america?
Better say a paradox america
Buy water like milk and honey
Millioners go up richer
Poor go down poorer
Estate owners and homeless people
Do we need any more paradox
In the richest country on our planet.

You asked me experience yes,i have a rich one
As a child a soccer player a teenage tennis amateur
Tested by time youngster
As an adult a good coordinator
What did you say you wanted ?American experience?
what the hell is this experience
I wondered when I heard it first
Two years and eight months ago
My conscious fighting with my ego
My ego saying I can even be better
Than what you are expecting
My conscious terrified no america is a strange land
Even worse the crazy side of our planet
You don't even know what awaits you
Just look around Listen up and be alert
Cause you don't know what you might come across
As they say any thing can happen
So scratch for american experience
May be just may be you might find it.

Fresh to the land Tireless vital energy
Enjoy to work hard
Satisfied by the end of the day
Unlike the seniors at work
Who dilly dally make up stories
Cracking up jokes Or milking as the saying goes
Nothing can stop the fresh
Rediculed by the look Laughed at by the walk
Mockered by the talk Strange and unique
Different fellow different stroke
Nothing can stop the fresh
Fresh to the land To him america goes crazy
Where nobody got no time
Where there is prejudice than pride
In the city of hustle and bustle
Different people different style
Harmoneous cultures Languages and behaviours
So much to live for So much to learn
Nothing can stop the fresh Fresh lives.

Bitting comments Fresh laughed at them
Just laughed it off Never took it personal
Considering it as a kid's game
He will laugh it off
Some will take it the wrong way
"to put him in his place"
they will taste his patience
by workin him many times
while others enjoy their coffee and talk
fresh is happy without that
fresh smiles and say "no problem"
for everyone pulling his weight
for whoever took him for granted
for fresh everything is learning
on this strange faraway land
things fascinated and outrageous
as if he is the only one in the work place
fresh here,fresh there,fresh everywhere
but fresh still smiles and fresh lives.

Got To Do It.
At times,I wonder
What people think
Where ever they are,
They comment
Whatever they do,
They justify
Whatever they see they dispise
Every time I wonder, at the working place
When you join the crowd and talk
Someone is snitching
When I do my business, some turned green
When I let my beard grow, they gossip
When I shave and dressed up
They still got some to say
Whatever I do they comment
What the heck they think,
What the hell they want
Whatever, whoever, who cares?
I still got to do, what a man got to do.

Magnetized
Breakfast time sitting and writing
Sipping my tea looking forward to see
My sight love,a customer in blimpie
A beauty,berret on her head
Long time since I saw her
I quited coming to stop my growing feeling
Towards the cute little lady
But I couldn't forget her
So here I come once again
To watch amazing beauty
Smiling while walking
Twinkle in her eye and a dimple in her cheek
What a cute girl she is
my sight love brown sugar
there,she comes smiling while walking
a twinkle in her eye and a dimple in her cheek.

I saw a cutie and try to talk to her
She smiled and pass by
That was last week
I saw her in the store today
She tried to talk to me
But I was in a hot water and pass her by
To complain about the purchase
The cashier pointed at her
And told me to talk to her
I went straight and stood by her
She smiled and looked at me
With the softest eyes I have ever seen
Couldn't speak up i was tongue tied
She, smiling jotted down on a paper
Hand it to me i barely looked at the paper
Get out of the store and glance at the paper.
And it was her card and she was the manager
I read at the back of the card
It says "call me.".

Young Girl
A girl beautiful,Her eyes shining
Her lips smiling and inviting
Her hands reaching
For the rails on the train
Grasping the rail together with my hands
Her perfume reached my nose
Obsession,yes obsession
That I know and that I don't like
Neither the name nor the smell
I turn around to see who
She is just a kid around fifteen
What does she know about me or the world
Remind me of the moth
Who will go in the fire
To get the satisfaction
Not to get burned
I looked at her and looked away
C'mon she whispered in my ears
Getting off the train
I stayed with a smile on my face
